We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Engineer, to join our remote knowledge team. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, with a strong focus on quality and producing products to a high standard. They will need to have at least 5 years of experience working in electronics manufacturing, in an SMT capacity and a demonstrable history of seniority and leadership in previous roles. It is crucial that they display great aptitude for planning and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
-Program jet print machine.
-Program pick and place machines.
-Interpret component data sheets and making reflow, MSL or wash adjustments accordingly.
-Carry out first article inspections through to complete final product inspections.
-Implement continuous improvements projects, with the opportunity to lead your own campaigns
-Schedule upcoming work from the order book and maintain KPIs.
-Communicate with customers including: consignment tracking, quality issues or DFM feedback.
Required Skills:
-Ability to work alone but as part of a team, remotely.
-Exceptional written communication skills both internally with multiple teams and externally with customers.
-Strong computer skills and familiarity of different operating systems.
-Excellent component knowledge; SMT, Hybrid and PTH technologies.
-Good understanding of how to operate a pick and place machine and stencil/jet printing machine.
-Working knowledge of Gerber data and how to manipulate it.
Required Experience:
-5 years experience within electronics manufacturing in an SMT capacity.
-Previously held IPC-A-610 CIS qualification.
-Previously carried out NPI activities for an SMT line(s).
-Experience of inspecting AOI scans, the quality of others and can disposition non-conforming material.
-Proven track record of continuous improvements both in processes and individually.
Preferred Experience:
-10 years experience within electronics manufacturing in an SMT capacity.
-Currently hold a valid IPC-A-610 CIS qualification or currently/previously held CIT qualification.
-History of using Mycronic or Mydata machines and can operate and program them.
-Fulfilling NPI activities using offline Mycronic software such as Factorylogix or MyCamJP and MyCentre.
-History of working in a regulated industry..
-Experience of carrying out DFM or RMA investigations and root cause analysis.
